The Polivka Papers include correspondence, notes, drawings and related material, 1945-1959; clippings, 1941-1959; and photographs, 1949-1957, documenting the collaboration of Polivka and Frank Lloyd Wright on the San Francisco proposed Butterfly Bridge, the Johnson Research Tower, Guggenheim Museum, and other projects. Correspondence with Wright concerned payment of Polivka's fees, travel arrangements, cost estimates of analyses, and related professional matters; other materials including technical reports on the Belmont Pavilion, Johnson Research Tower, and the use of Thermolux Glass in a Dallas hotel. Mathematical calculations concerning the Guggenheim, Johnson Research Tower, Morris House and Belmont Pavilion; drafts of letters and articles by Polivka on Frank Lloyd Wright; typescripts of articles about Wright by others; Wright's notes on the Belmont Pavilion; sketches by Wright of the Butterfly Bridge; drawings of the Belmont Pavilion. Clippings concern Wright, Polivka, Louis Henry Sullivan and architecture. Photographs depict Taliesin West, the Guggenheim and Morris House projects, Wright, Polivka and others at Taliesin.
